Don't Make Me Angry!, Part 15: 2001: A Space Odyssey #6

"What counts is our being TOGETHER--trusting each other--a dude and a chick from DIFFERENT worlds! I-it's a MIND-BREAKER!"

The sentence above pretty much puts to bed the debate over who did the actual writing in the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby collaborations.

Yes, the dialogue and prose leave a lot to be desired, and has that "Old man trying to sound hip" feel to it, but, once again, Kirby's huge imagination and ferociously bombastic art saves the day.

2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY #6 concludes the "Norton of New York" story arc that began last issue, and features Norton moving heaven and earth to save the "Space Princess" that he and his crew rescued in the last issue. The tale ends ***gasp*** with Norton dying and being evolved into a space-baby by a Monolith. The kicker here is the "Next issue" panel at the end of the issue, which promises a story devoted entirely to a space-baby. Who are they...? What do they want...? Are they friend...or foe? Join me for the answers...same space blog! Same spacey reviewer!

2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY #6 earns a groovy six out of ten long-haired hippie peace signs:
